WordPress 3.4 is live and I encourage all of my clients to update! Why? There are a lot of new features they’ve added!
My favorite of the new features is the new “Theme Previewer”. Essentially what this allows WordPress developers to do is preview a theme before it is selected for the public to view. The applications for this feature are wonderful! Gone are the days of thinking CSS changes will work and be cross browser compatible only to find out that you’ve made some unseen mistake and the live website is not viewing properly.
Other noteworthy improvements to the WP framework include:
- Custom background images and header images can be set from the Media Library.
- Improved performance of the wp_query function
- A number of code functionality fixes listed here.
